![]() When you’ve played a third of a life, it just repeats itself and that’s a shame. The levels don’t really contribute to this either because they look alike. Repetition You already understand that this will get boring quickly. You defeat the bosses by solving ridiculously simple puzzles. And sometimes you activate an elevator or another gadget in the meantime. But actually you do nothing more than go through doors or walls, defeat enemies and move yourself from one room to another in that way. Occasionally it happens that you have to consciously select a certain character to progress in a level. That’s basically how it works, you have a few combos, but it doesn’t get difficult or challenging at all. The controls are also very simple: A for a weak attack, X for a strong attack and Y to jump. You hardly notice any difference in the gameplay if you choose a different character, moreover you can just die, continue fighting with one of the remaining players, and your character will automatically be brought back to life after a few seconds. ![]() You will play The Thing for most of the game and for the rest it doesn’t really matter what you do, it really is button bashing and especially not thinking. For example, The Human Torch can shoot fireballs and The Thing can create a shockwave on the ground. Each character has a strong and a somewhat weaker attack and each has its own unique superpowers. The game is unfinished in all areas, the makers have trimmed the edges and it is a typical example of a game that has met the deadline but delivers everything except quality.Ĭharacters and gameplay You control all 4 characters, where you control 1 and can continuously switch between the characters, as often as you want and whenever you want. You are dealing with a pure beat-em-up here, which is not so bad, because there are people who like such mind-numbing games, but this game really misses the mark. So what’s the point of the extra outfits, movie trailers and artwork, among other things? I wouldn’t know, any more than I understand why a game like this was released in the first place. Unfortunately, that should not help, because with about 6 hours you have already played this game and hardly anyone will want to do it again. Part of the film can be seen in the game, but additional elements have also been added to extend the duration of the game or its replay value. In any case, just like in part one, you have to deal with 4 superheroes: Mister Fantastic, The Thing, Invisible Woman and The Human Torch. What can you expect? Since the movie is in theaters, I won’t go into the story. The game has been delivered, is it fantastic or will it be rated around 4? As always, it doesn’t matter what the quality is, as long as the deadline is met. ![]() Fantastic 4: Rise of the Silver Surfer has appeared in response to the film that is now in cinemas.
